“What exactly is the Become A Bassist Summit?”

The Become A Bassist Summit is the world’s largest free online event for bass players who want to level up their skills, have a ton of fun doing it and become the best bassists they can be.

I’ve gathered nearly 20 of the world’s leading bass players and teachers and convinced them to share their expertise to help bass players like you improve their skills in super practical, no-B.S. ways.

These aren’t just surface-level ‘tips’ that you might find in a random YouTube video. These are the world’s best players and teachers doing deep dives into everything from technique, to groove, to the ‘non-musical’ skills that will make you a better musician.

What Will You Learn At The Become A Bassist Summit?

  • You’ll learn from Bryan Beller (bassist for Joe Satriani, The Aristocrats and Steve Vai) how to craft the perfect tone for every song you ever play
  • Ryan Madora (bassist for Robben Ford) will show you how to confidently ‘hold down the fort’ during any blues jam session - even if playing in public scares the sh*t out of you
  • You’ll learn from Noa Kageyama how to practice so that you actually improve so you can start sounding better in your bedroom AND on stage
  • Anthony Crawford (who’s played with Erykah Badu, Allan Holdsworth) will show you the art of the hustle and how to make money and make a living as a bass player
  • Damian Erskine (of the Jaco Pastorius Big Band) will show you how to develop your ‘rhythmic muscular memory to develop rock-solid time alongside incredible feel
  • Nashville session legend Roy Vogt will show you how to add chromatic notes to your bass lines, fills and solos to open up your creativity
  • [Advanced] You’ll learn from Gospel Chops veteran Mark Peric how to build a 4-finger ‘Matt Garrison’ plucking-hand technique, plus how and where to use it for maximum effect
  • Nick Clark (who plays bass for Kanye West’s Sunday Services) will show you how to develop an incredible feel on bass, plus how to connect with any audience

“How does the Summit work?”

The Become A Bassist Summit is like a conference for bass players, except you don’t have to travel anywhere, or spend money on hotels, taxis or food. You can attend the Summit from right where you are now.

Once you register for your free ticket, you’re in. All you have to do is wait for the first day of the Summit (August 10th), and we’ll start sending you the links to nearly 20 masterclasses from these world-class bassists. Then you can watch them from the comfort of your home, right on your computer, tablet or phone.

On Day 1 of the Summit, the first 4 Summit masterclasses will be released and sent to you - you can watch all of them as many times as you like.

On Day 2, the next 4 masterclasses will be released, then Day 3, 4, and 5.

However, each masterclass will only be available for 48 hours from the time it’s released. After those 48 hours, the masterclasses expire and you’ll only be able to watch them by purchasing a lifetime pass.

For example, the masterclasses that are released on Monday at 9AM will expire on Wednesday at 9AM. The masterclasses that are released on Tuesday at 9AM will expire on Thursday at 9AM etc.

If you want to get the most out of all these sessions, make sure to put time aside to watch, learn and start practicing everything you’ll be learning.

"Is this really free?”

If you were to take an hour-long lesson with each of the bass players involved in the Summit, the cost would be around $1,500 - and some of them don’t even accept students. So if you’re wondering how this can be free… I get it!

However, the Become A Bassist Summit is absolutely free. The only cost to watch every single masterclass for the BAB Summit is your email address.

Important: Your free ticket allows you access to each masterclass for 48 hours.

If you want to have lifetime access to the Summit masterclasses, plus all the tabs, notation and tracks for all the sessions, you can purchase a lifetime access pass, but you don’t need one to attend every Summit masterclass live.

Just sign up using your email address and I’ll send you everything as it’s released - 100% free.

“Is this live? What if I can’t make it to the masterclasses?”

That’s not a problem! Each masterclass is available for a full 48 hours after it’s released. That means even if you’re busy when it’s originally delivered, you’ll still have 2 full days to watch it before it expires.

That means if you can’t watch the masterclasses immediately when they’re released, it’s OK.

If the sessions are released at midnight where you live, you can simply watch them when you wake up. If they’re released while you’re at work, you can watch them when you get home (or even watch them on your phone during your lunch break).

You can watch everything on your own schedule, no matter where you are in the world - no need to show up anywhere ‘live’ or ‘on time’. Remember though, the masterclasses are only available for 48 hours.

“Do I need to travel to attend the Summit?”

Absolutely not. The Become A Bassist Summit is 100% online - no need to travel across the world to get the most out of it. You can watch every single masterclass online from anywhere in the world; your bedroom, your practice space, or even your office.

Who Is This For?

The Summit masterclasses cover a wide variety of topics and all levels. Even if you’re a day-1 beginner, you’ll be able to take some really practical skills away from the Summit that you can use to get better, fast.

If you’re an intermediate player, you’ll learn how to ‘patch the gaps’ in your playing so you can finally ‘level-up’.

And if you’re a more advanced player who’s been playing for years, you’ll get a ton out of the Summit sessions as well. There are specific ‘Advanced’ sessions for you all about next-level techniques and ways to take your playing further than you might have thought possible.

If you’re looking for insanely practical, no-B.S. ways to:

  • Develop rock solid time and a killer groove, so everything you play feels incredible

  • Discover how to improvise through chord changes and create incredible music ‘on-the-fly’

  • Learn to ‘hold down the fort’ a jam session and have people begging to play with you

  • Improve your technique to the point where anything you want to play becomes playable

  • Get real-life gigs and start earning a living through playing your bass

  • Craft a beautiful tone that’s perfect for the song every time - using the gear your already have

Then you’re going to love the Become A Bassist Summit.
