What if you could learn a song just one time and automatically know it in every key. This means that if a singer asks to change the key, or a guitarist brings out a capo and changes the key that way, you'll have no troubles at all.

Instead of sweating bullets and fumbling over your notes to change key on the fly, you'd have a system that let you play confidently no matter what key you needed to play in.

This is yet another thing that knowing just a little bit of theory can help out with.

Again, this isn't a pipe dream - it's a very attainable goal. Once again, all you need is a little knowledge of the inner mechanics of music.

In this case, piece of knowledge that's going to let you do this is called the 'Major Chord Scale'. I've talked about it briefly in some previous lessons, but you'll get the whole picture in this lesson.

Do you see how fantastic this tool is?!?! It gives you complete freedom! Once you start learning things in terms of numbers, rather than individual notes or chords, learning songs becomes easy - you just have to remember the numbers. The key will then take care of itself!

And if you do need to change key, you don't have to learn the song again - you just punch in the numbers in the new key.

You can do this with bass lines, melodies, or anything else that you wanted to play - the sky is the limit.
